Une année après le début l’épidémie de la maladie à virus Ebola au Nord Kivu et en Ituri, la présence de cette maladie a été confirmé la nuit du 15 Aout 2019 au Sud Kivu après deux cas d’importation confirmés Ebola en Territoire de Mwenga, dans le Village de Kilungutwe à plus de 100 kilomètres de la ville de Bukavu.

Selon les sources de la coordination de riposte, une femme et son jeune enfant ont été touchés par la fièvre hémorragique Ebola à Mwenga, dans le Sud-Kivu.

Etant la première fois que la province du Sud Kivu est confrontée à cette maladie, l’apparition de cette fièvre hémorragique, a créé une psychose dans le chef de la population dans toute la province, que certaines personnes mal intentionnées ont profité de cette situation pour faire une mauvaise compagne en montrant à la population que cette maladie serait une invention politicienne, et d’autres sont allé même loin en demandant à la population de ne pas se faire vacciner car le vaccin contiendrait les substances toxique et nuirait à la santé.

Cette intoxication a développé dans la population du Sud Kivu en général, et particulièrement celle de Mwenga une résistance face à l’application des mesures d’hygiène susceptibles de ralentir voir freiner la propagation de la maladie à Virus EBOLA.

C’est dans ce sens que le Centre OLAME à travers son partenaire CAFOD, grâce au financement du gouvernement Australien, exécute depuis le mois de Septembre 2019, le projet d’éveille de conscience intitulé :  » Réponse à Ebola – Focus sur la sensibilisation de la communauté, WASH et moyens de subsistance « 

Les activités déjà réalisées par l’équipe du centre OLAME dans cette Zone de santé de MWENGA sont les suivantes:

 Formation de 7 membres de l’équipe cadre Zone de santé Mwenga et 18 infirmiers titulaires (issus de différentes aires de santé de la Zone de santé de Mwenga) en renforçant leurs capacités sur l’engagement communautaire et les méthodes préventives sur la maladie à virus Ebola.

 Formation pour deux jours en faveur  de 180 leaders religieux ( 50 leaders religieux, 20 leaders des jeunes, 30 leaders des femmes, 30 leaders des transporteurs et 50 leaders des marchés)  sur la CREC et la prévention de la MVE dans la ZS de Mwenga.

Formation et capacitation des membres des 180 CAC (Au total 900 bénéficiaires membres des CAC en raison de 5 personnes par CAC) en vue de leur implication dans la prévention et lutte contre la maladie à virus Ebola.

 Organisation des séances de formation pour  320 membres des  64 CEVB ( en raison des 5 membres par CEVB) dans les différents sites

Déplacement à Kamituga pour former  les journalistes des radios de Kamituga émettant dans la Zone de santé de Mwenga  sur la CREC et la prévention de la MVE.

 Contact avec une troupe théâtrale de MWENGA ; préparation et coaching du groupe sur les thématiques des sensibilisations de MVE ; mise en scène devant la foule à la paroisse et dans les lieux publique

 Organisation d’une formation des 40enseignants en provenance des différentes écoles primaires et professionnelles du territoire de Mwenga avec le thématique engagement communautaire dans la lutte contre la MVE dans nos écoles et familles
